 - Long time Tulsa animal welfare activists Mike & Kathy Nobles have announced the formation of Going Home Animal Rescue & Transport.

“At the urging of numerous friends and supporters we have decided to form our own animal rescue & transport effort” stated Mike Nobles. “We will be available to assist with the transport of animals from at-risk situations in Oklahoma to shelters and foster homes in areas such as Colorado, Minnesota, Kansas, and just about anyplace that will offer the animals a chance at their forever home” Nobles said.

The Nobles have long been active in such efforts having driven over 50,000 miles to rescue animals and decided to form their own group when they saw an unfulfilled need to assist area animal welfare individuals, groups, and shelters outside of Tulsa. “We will continue to assist   Tulsa area groups to find homes for animals but will give particular attention to those areas outside Tulsa that have very limited resources and currently have no way to transport animals to safer environments” stated Going Home cofounder Kathy Nobles.

The Nobles have filed incorporation papers with the state of Oklahoma and have a 501 (c) (3) application pending with the IRS for tax exempt status. “As usual, we will be depending on volunteer contributions and drivers to make this a reality” stated Mike Nobles. “The response to our past funding needs has always been wonderfully successful and we hope to enjoy the continued financial support of friends and supporters not only in Oklahoma but throughout the country” said Kathy Nobles. “We are excited that our board members, all volunteers, come from not only Tulsa but the Stigler/Eufaula area and McAlester and driver volunteers come from every section of Oklahoma.” “This will truly be a state-wide effort to save animal lives. The need knows no boundaries” she said.  “In fact, we are doing our first volunteer supported transport trip from Wagoner Animal Guardian Society (WAGS) to Denver Dumb Friends League on December 2nd” Nobles said. “What a

wonderful Christmas gift to the 20 dogs and puppies but also for the volunteers” she added.

Our rescue received a phone message talking about animal transport and I was wondering if this is the group – it was from a Billy Thomas in the Bridge Creek area. We certainly would like to know more details. Thank you. Sue Madison/RockySpot Rescue

This great group just transported 20 dogs for us. Thank you all so much, great job. It’s great to give all these animals a chance at a forever home.
