If your pet’s tag doesn’t have current info or if he just plain doesn’t have one at all, you no longer have an excuse.
Sponsored by the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, Tag Day is this Saturday, April 7. Families can receive one free tag and purchase additional tags for only $5.
Making sure your pet wears a tag with your current phone number on it is one of the best ways to guarantee his return should he ever go wandering.
Microchipping is great, too, but a good old fashioned tag doesn’t require a fancy machine to get the information.
Most likely the person who finds your dog will not have a microchip scanner on hand. How much easier is it to just read your phone number off of a tag?
If you can afford it, using both methods is ideal. Collars and tags sometimes come off, but a microchip is forever.
