Tulsa Animal Welfare and other rescues around the country are joining Best Friends Animal Society for its third annual Back in Black adoption event.

The group hopes to increase adoption and awareness of black cats and dogs during the month of November. Traditionally, black animals wait longer for forever homes than other animals.

For the month of November, Tulsa Animal Welfare will reduce adoption rates for black cats to $20 and $55 for black dogs.

On Saturday, Nov. 23, Oklahoma Alliance for Animals will be at Tulsa Animal Welfare from noon to 4pm. Black animals adopted that day will go home with a new microchip and tags and there will be opportunities to win other prizes.
