Comments: My name is Scooter and I was born Easter weekend 2010. I have lived as part of a colony of kitties that some nice people have been caring for, trapping, spaying/neutering, and finding homes for, over the past 5 years. Although I have grown up in a feral colony, I am very sweet and love to be petted.

I was caught in early November, and when the vet tested me, I tested positive for feline HIV.

I am a great cat and deserve a wonderful home with an owner who will love me and keep me indoors. I am understandably a bit afraid now that I have been living in a cage at the vet, and I need someone who will be patient with me as I adjust to the good life as an indoor kitty. Once I find a home, these nice people will take care of having me neutered and vaccinated, and front declawed if you wish.

I am currently staying with the kind folks at the Jenks Veterinary Hospital, 301 S. Elm in Jenks.  If you have the kind of heart and home that would be open to giving me a great life, please call Jordan at (918) 282-3670.

Remy

Rescue Group Name: OOPS (Oklahoma Orphaned Poodle Service)

Name of Animal: Remy

Breed: Miniature Poodle

Sex: Male

Color(s): White

Weight: 13 lbs.

Age: 7 years

Known Shots: all vaccinations, neutered

Adoption Fee: $150

Comments: My name is Remy. The good people at OOPS Poodle Rescue took me in when my owner developed Alzheimer’s disease and could no longer care for me.

I am a laid back guy, and I love to sit on your lap. I do great with other dogs, so a four-legged brother or sister would be fine with me. I am very sweet and friendly.

Unfortunately, I am blind from cataracts, but I adapt quickly to my environment, and I listen very well. I am a very good boy, and just need a home with owners who be patient and understanding.

If you cannot adopt me, please consider sponsoring some of my medical expenses. You can do that by calling (918) 698-4658 or emailing oopsrescue@cox.net.

Pugsley 2

Rescue Group Name: Oneta Animal Care

Name of Animal: Pugsley

Breed: Puggle (Pug and Beagle mix)

Sex: Male

Color(s): Fawn and black

Weight: 28 lbs

Age: 5-6 years

Known Shots: all vaccinations, neutered, on heartworm and flea/tick preventative

Adoption Fee: $50

Place this animal under: Special Needs Animals

Comments: My name is Pugsley, and I am a very good boy.

I was rescued from a shelter by a nice lady who saw that I have potential and personality.

I cannot see, but please don’t hold that against me! I get around really well once I get used to my surroundings!

I’m about five years old, but I play like a puppy. I am 28 lbs (I’ve put on a bit of “holiday weight” and could stand to lose a few pounds.) :)

The nice folks at Oneta Animal Care (in Broken Arrow) are letting me stay at their clinic until I can find a forever home. I get along just fine with the resident clinic cat, and I like to play with other dogs.

I am a very happy and friendly guy, and I love all people!

I am waiting for a family to adopt me and love me.

If you can’t adopt me, but can help sponsor my medical bills, please call Oneta Animal Care to arrange a donation or mail a check to the address below (be sure to mark it “for Pugsley”).

Rescue Group Name: Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter

Name of Animal: Newton

Breed: Mixed

Sex: Male

Color(s): White & Tan

Weight: 40-45

Age: 8 Mo

Known Shots: Rabies

Adoption Fee: $75

Place this animal under: Special Needs Animals

Comments: Tuesday, Susan, an animal control officer, came up to me and asked to take photos of a 8 month old puppy she had brought in a few days earlier. She picked him up abandoned in the streets of Tulsa. This sweetheart dog was starving and was little more than a bag of bones. The worst of his troubles came from a rope embedded in his neck. Newton (the name the officer gave to the pup) was in bad shape, but inspite of his terrible condition, he is loving and grateful for the care he has received from Susan. Newton has a deep gash where the rope was removed, but this will heal. What Newton needs is a home with a loving family. He has been dealt enough suffering and pain.  Newton’s spirit remains high and love for humans is strong. Please look into your heart and ask if you can offer this dog the home he deserves.  – Bob Foshay, TulsaPets Magazine photographer.

I’m 18 months old, sight impaired and I do have very short seizures occasionally. The seizures are pretty much under control with daily medications. If you would like to know more, please contact SGRR in Tulsa and they can give you lots more information about me.
