A CANINE EVENT TO FIGHT CANCER
We are excited to announce the first annual Bark For Life of Tulsa community event on Saturday, June 23rd from 9:00am – 12:00 pm. The American Cancer Society “Bark For Life” is a fund raising event associated with Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society signature fundraising event. Bark For Life honors the care-giving qualities of our canine “Best Friends” and caregivers. Participants and their owners walk 1 mile together to celebrate cancer survivorship, to honor those who lost the battle against cancer, and fundraise in support of cancer research, education, awareness and patient services. The walk is followed by activities, contests, fundraising and more! The location for the walk is to be announced!
You may participate as an individual in the event.
You or your company may help sponsor Bark For Life
You can register a Survivor & Caregiver for a special lap at the Bark For Life
You can donate goods such as dog treats, dog food and dog toys.
You can sell individualized luminarias at your location for $5 to honor anyone who has battled cancer ( human & canine)

TICKETS GO ON SALE FOR 2nd ANNUAL BLUES FESTIVAL
Chris Duarte, Albert Castiglia and Sean Chambers lead a stellar lineup of blues artists at Tulsa’s Hound Dog Blues Festival, September 21-22, 2012 at Chandler Park, 6500 West 21st Street.
The 2nd annual event will draw Tulsa pet lovers and blues music fans to the area’s largest outdoor concert venue for a day of music, food, and entertainment with a portion of ticket and merchandise proceeds benefiting animal rescue organizations.
“This year we hope to benefit a variety of animal rescue organizations and there will be multiple opportunities to help.” said Matt Arbuckle, Hound Dog Blues Festival Organizer. “This is our second year and we are expecting a large turnout with the extraordinary talent we have booked.”
The festival begins Friday, September 21 at 6:00 p.m. The Steve Pryor and Sean Chambers’ bands make up the Friday evening segment. Saturday’s music begins at 11:30 a.m. and will feature music throughout the day into the evening culminating with Chris Duarte at 8:30 p.m.
New this year will be primitive camping in the park for attendees who wish to bring a tent and stay over. Food, beverages, and merchandise will be available and ice, beer (21 and over), soft drinks and water will also be available for purchase for those wanting to bring their own empty coolers.
Seating is festival style, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Pets are welcome but must be leashed and monitored at all times. Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Advance tickets are $10 Friday, $15 Saturday and $20 for two-day passes. They go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5th at www.ticketstorm.com and Starship Records in Tulsa. Tickets will also be available through participating animal rescue organizations beginning April 1st. A limited number of V.I.P. Packages will be available to attendees 21 and over that include full event admission, V.I.P. parking/seating area, meet and greets including photo opportunities with artists and access to the event hospitality center including food, drink and restrooms. Children’s (7-17 w/I.D.) tickets are $5 per day, 6 and under are free. Camping sites are $10 for the event and will be available at the door. Ticket prices will increase on August 20, 2012.

Enjoy the entertainment, contests, cool pet products and adoption opportunities. The event benefits area animal rescue groups saving all varieties of animals. See a B.A. Police Dog, Safari Joe’s, local vendors with must have items and inflatables for the kids. Enter your favorite furry friend in the pet contests and shop for a new friend to bring home. Family appropriate food will be available.
