Gone from our lives but not forgotten. You left me at
the early age of five but brought joy the short time
you were here. You had a lot of time left on this earth
but someone else wanted to enjoy the same happiness
that you brought me, too. You were the best
Christmas present I ever received. You were only
five weeks old and five pounds when I got you. You
grew to be 45 pounds but you were still my “LIL
RUNT.” I still find your hair and slobber marks you left
and now I know why you did. You are missed by
many, baby girl. Your paws left prints in our hearts!

I know that G*D dropped you in front of me that
April day for a reason. You were the sweetest
princess he had ever made. You always had a
smile on your face, and everyone was your
friend. I miss the click click click of your feet on
the wood floors, and making the bed around you
in the morning so you could sleep in. I know that
heaven has gained an angel, and all of the other
doggies there are astounded by your beauty and
sweetness. Please know that I will never forget
you, and that I’m grateful for every minute we
had. I Love you.

Tail always wagging. Face always smiling. Eyes
ever sparkling. With an unmatched zest, Lauren truly
loved her life and everyone in it. Even when dealt
some tough cards with repeated bouts with cancer,
she never let it get her down, never stopped living.
She relished being at my side, whether out for a Jeep
ride, checking out my worksites, or even off to visit
her favorite vet. She was a happy-go-lucky girl who
made friends with all she met. There’s an empty spot
in our home, but Lauren’s tail continues to wag in our
hearts and her memory always brings a smile.

You came to us 12 years ago. You were the best
dog we ever had and even though you passed
away my first year in college and I never got to
say goodbye you will always hold a place in my
heart. You were a funny little character chasing
me and my friends as if you were herding sheep,
and the nights you came running in my room
because you were afraid of the thunder. You
brought joy and happiness to our lives and will be
missed. We are thankful for the time we had
with you!

I remember those oversized ears you used to
trip over, and those huge hound feet for such
a small baby Bassett. What a clown you
were. You also had the ornery streak – for so
long I thought it was Gus the Doberman
starting the fights until one day I looked out
and saw you were the instigator the whole
time. All the neighbors knew you since you
loved to sleep in the street in front of our
house on the cul-de-sac. And then one day
you were gone.

He came to us as an unwanted Christmas
present and filled our home with fun and fur for
almost twelve years. Loved by all who new
him, canine and man alike. He enjoyed
morning coffee with our neighbor, Ed, playing
with puppies and the neighborhood dogs,
rolling in the green grass, visits from John, and
greeting the mailman. The squirrels in our
backyard are relieved at his passing, but his
gentle spirit, kindness and beauty are missed
by his family, friends and “siblings” every day.
