So grab a blanket, your favorite furry companion, and dive into a fall full of warmth, joy and unforgettable moments.

Enrich Your Pet’s Fall With Some Fun!
Fall is the perfect season to enjoy fun enrichment activities with your pet! Take advantage of cooler weather by going on a leaf-crunching walk together. Scatter treats in a pile of leaves for a sniff-and-search game that stimulates your pet’s senses. Try making DIY puzzle feeders using cardboard boxes filled with pieces of paper and fall-themed toys or safe snacks like apple slices (no seeds!), then let your pup go to work finding the fun.

You can also create an autumn scavenger hunt with hidden toys or treats around the house or yard. If you save your toilet paper or paper towel rolls, you can stuff them with treats and then fold the sides to give your pet a yummy challenge. Don’t forget themed photo sessions with cozy scarves or costumes for a little festive flair. These activities keep your pet mentally and physically engaged while strengthening your bond.

Bring on the Pup Cup!
Fall’s Pup Cups just got an upgrade! This Cinnamon & Sweet Potato Pie Pup Cup stars mashed sweet potato blended with unsweetened peanut butter and whipped egg whites. Now you can embrace the iconic Puppuccino experience without the unnecessary extras, transforming this classic dog treat into a homemade, health-conscious delight. Ideal for spoiling your pup this season, Pup Cups are best given sparingly alongside your pup’s regular diet.

Ingredients and Supplies
2-inch chunk peeled sweet potato
1 tablespoon unsweetened natural peanut butter
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
2 ounces pasteurized egg whites
Frother
Mixing bowl
4-ounce cup
Instructions
Boil or microwave the sweet potato until it is soft. Mash it until smooth, then combine with peanut butter.
Use a frother to whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add a heaping spoonful to the potato/peanut butter mixture and stir to incorporate.
Pour into a 4-ounce cup and top with the remaining whipped whites. Sprinkle lightly with a pinch of cinnamon.

Work off the Extra Calories Together
Don’t let all that delicious food slow you down. Leash up your pup and head to Turkey Mountain for a refreshing hike. With 750 rugged acres, including 30 miles of dirt trails, to explore right in the heart of Tulsa, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the season and burn off a few treats — yours and theirs. Be sure to bring water, waste bags and your phone for safety (and a few scenic selfies). Crisp air, colorful leaves and your favorite hiking buddy? That’s fall fitness done right!

Watch Out for Holiday Food Hazards
The holidays bring delicious meals, but many festive foods can be harmful to pets. Fatty meats, like turkey skin or ham, can trigger pancreatitis, while cooked bones may splinter and cause choking or internal injuries. Sweets are especially risky — chocolate contains theobromine, which is toxic to both dogs and cats, and xylitol (a sugar substitute found in gum and baked goods) can cause liver failure in dogs.

Onions, garlic and chives, common in holiday stuffing, can damage red blood cells, leading to anemia. Grapes, raisins and alcohol are also highly toxic and can cause kidney or nervous system issues. To keep your furry friend safe, stick to pet-friendly treats and avoid feeding them from the holiday table, no matter how cute the begging eyes.

Keep It Cozy
As temperatures drop this fall, it’s important to keep your pet cozy and comfortable. You can start by providing a warm, draft-free sleeping area with extra blankets or even a heated pet bed. Short-haired or senior pets may benefit from a lightweight sweater during chilly walks. You also want to make sure your pet stays dry, so consider a water-resistant coat for rainy days.

Don’t forget to keep up with grooming, as a healthy coat offers natural insulation. And you might have to adjust outdoor time as needed, especially for pets sensitive to cold. Indoors, you can enrich their environment with cozy napping spots and interactive toys. Lastly, ensure fresh water and proper nutrition to support their immune system as the seasons change. A little comfort goes a long way!
